About 90 farms are currently selling their products directly to schools across the state. MDAR, through its support of the Massachusetts Farm to School Project, provides technical assistance to farmers and schools as they attempt to find a good match. Support your local farms by visiting your local winter farmers' market!
The number of farmers' markets in the Northeast Harvest region has increased from 67 to 78. Winter markets have affected that increase. A farmers' market consists of individual vendors, mostly farmers, who set up booths, tables or stands, outdoors or indoors, to sell produce, fruits, fowers, and meat or fish products at a designated public place.
