Purchase Poinsettias from Farms in Northeastern Massachusetts

PoinsettiaPoinsettias are traditional Christmas plants that will last through the Christmas season and beyond. They represent over 85% of the potted plant sales during the holiday season. Red isthe most popular color (3/4 of all sales) followed by white and pink. However, new varieties may include salmon, apricot, yellow and cream.

Poinsettias are priced according to the number of blooms - the more blooms, the more expensive the plant. Contrary to popular belief, they are NOT poisonous. When selecting a poinsettia, a fresh plant has little or no yellow pollen showing on the flower clusters. Plants that have shed their pollen will soon drop their colorfulbracts (flower clusters). When purchasing a poinsettia, make sure to have it sleeved or cover it when the outdoor temperatures are below 50°F.  At home, place your poinsettia in a sunny window.  Ideally plants require day time temperatures of 60 to 70°F and night time temperatures around 55°F.  High temperatures will shorten the  plant's life.  Do not let any part of the plant touch cold window panes. Water only when the soil is dry.

ENJOY ITS BEAUTY!
